Candles Cartel Update Fall 2024
We have been expirementing with the idea of refillable candles for quite some time now. We have launched the refillable candles variant for folks who either have already ordered from us and are simply are looking to refill their wax and scent (see more below). There are however others who have never had a Candles Cartel Candle before and do not know about our extremely unique candle vessels.

Two years ago I wrote about a concept called "Candle Subscriptions" which were intended for folks to just simply get new candles sent to them without having to constantly re-order. That is still something we are circling back to however the actual "refills" for wax is the reason we went to concrete vessels in the first place for our coconut wax candles.
The Benefits of Candle Refills
Time
Refilling the scent that you had, or going with a new scent is all something that can be done a lot quicker than creating a completely whole new vessel and candle so the turn-around time or the time that you get the candle back can be a lot quicker.
Building Scent Trust
Another great thing is the familiarity you can get with different scents you may not have known of like Bacarrat Rouge 540 in a candle or anything else we come up with in the future for that reason I ask that you please subscribe to our email for new scent releases.
Easy Ordering
The actual order itself is super easy for you to do as there's less of a financial burden to re-order the same or another scent. We just ask that you put a note with your order so we know which scent your looking to get.
*Warning* Candle Refill Restrictions
With anything else in life there comes things you can and cannot do. For simplicity I laid them out here
- We Cannot Refill Unusable Vessels* - to double check if we can use the vessel please feel free to message us first on WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, X or you can call or text as well.
- We Cannot Refill A Vessel With Too Different of a Scent - if you ordered a Coffee & Milk candle and now you would like a lavender scent, we may not be able to fulfill that order. The reason being is not only the constrating difference between those two scents. The concerete vessels themselves absorb some of the scent as well so it may not be possible to simply switch to a contrasting scent. Something we are still working on but wanted to be clear about it for your expectation purposes.
- Mississauga Area Only...For Previous Clients Only - as of right now we can offer this to specifically local clients that have ordered from us before or local people who are looking to order from us with refilling the candle in mind sometime in the future. The closer you are to our posted Google Maps address the more likely we can promptly fulfill the refill for you. I will personally update everyone once we successfully have integrated steps to scale this option for the world to use.
- Refillable Candles May Not Last Forever - This isn't a restriction but something to keep in mind. Do the jars last a very long time? Yes, however that is in a perfect case scenario where they are not being handled or touched meaning the chances of the jar you have lasting forever may not be as likely as something happening before that. In that case ordering a new candle may be easier than refilling something that is broken or damaged or simply unusable. This decision making process is done during the "Review" segment of the order.
Legend Definitions:
*unusable vessels
ən-ˈyü-zə-bəl, ves.əls
i.e. broken, damaged. dirty candle vessels unusable for Candles Cartel operating purposes. Candle vessels that are in perfect condition but not created by Candles Cartel. Vessels deemed unusable after review from Candles Cartel staff.
Refillable Candles: How To Simply Do It
- Finish the candle you have already ordered from Candles Cartel & clean out the wax
- Use the link "create & insert here"
- Let us virtually review the candle - upon ordering a "insert name here" we will ask for some pictures to reveiw the candle to make sure refillable candles is right for you.
- Drop Off The Refillable Candles
- Pick Up The Refillable Candles - We will either ship out your new refilled candle or you can pick it back up at your convience!
