Wick "Tunneling" Mayhem
It's time for another order, you've finally created your masterpiece. After setting the wick down perfectly in the middle you realize the wax burns slightly more to the left than it should.

Candle makers go through this all the time while creating different candles but how do you avoid it? The tunneling is actually a clue that the solution is close by the problem. Sometimes the secret is just adding another wick.

The Diameter Dilemma
Think of it this way, imagine coming back in from a cold Canadian early spring day and the heater wasn't on! You know where's going to get heat first say if you only had one heater in a large living room. It's the same as having just one wick for a candle that needs two. Even if it's placed perfectly center, it may not be enough to heat the entire work-of-art that's why you double up.
Now what diameter am I speaking of? Please see the chart below from Candle Science (source)

The goal is to get a full melt pool that reaches the edge which is the key to a good burn and strong scent. Without this, you can possibly waste the precious wax you have after going through the trouble of getting the vessel and scents ready.
The magic behind why it works simply is the doubling of the "team-effort" for wider vessels. Two wicks can help get the party jumping and even out the extra wax that would have been unmelted.
In the end we've chosen to double up our wicks and will be posting more about this on YouTube, Instagram and TikTok.
