Everyone knows that the wedding days are the brides days. Us grooms are just along for the ride...for the most part. Relationships are full of complexities, including the weeding day. Picking the actual day is tough enough, but fine tuning all the little details about ti can be even tougher.
From wedding DJ's to candles, its not easy to make sure this day goes perfectly. Every fine detail laid out and executed. So how are candles used at weddings?
Well this goes back to tradition, but how about I make a long story short? Root Candles discusses this in their blog.
They go on to say: "Traditionally, three candles are displayed: one that represents the bride, one that represents the groom, and one that represents their covenant marriage"
This is an important note because most people aren't aware of that or how long society has dedicated ceremony of marriage and candles together. You will get the picture by this next quote.
More from Root Candles blog: Genesis 2:24 says, “Therefore a man leaves his father and his mother and clings to his wife, and they become one flesh.”
Why are candles mentioned in the beginning of the bible? Well it goes into something called the Unity Candle ceremony. Basically it is suppose to represent two lights coming together in "Holy Matrimony". Did you know Christianity isn't the only religion that uses candles in wedding ceremonies? I'll cover this in another blog later. So which candles are the most popular at weddings?
Traditionally 3-5 inch pillar candles are very popular with weddings. If your using the candles for some sort of wedding ceremony ritual - like the Unity Candle ceremony practiced in Christianity, than its still pillar. Scented candles may be used as well but typically its your paraffin waxed pillar candles.
